.DOT: Sunrise protection for trademark holders
The new .DOT extension is built for startups, developers, software, infrastructure, and technical brands. Its Sunrise Period runs from July 21 through October 19, 2026, giving verified trademark holders an opportunity to request matching names before wider public launch.
To register during Sunrise, the applicant needs a valid Trademark Clearinghouse Signed Mark Data (SMD) file supporting the requested domain label. NicNames can process .DOT Sunrise registrations for eligible trademark holders—contact our support team and include details about the name and your SMD file.
.DOT Early Access is scheduled for October 20–November 1, with General Availability beginning November 2, 2026. Dates are stated in UTC and remain subject to registry or ICANN changes.
