ICANN Unveils Full ICANN85 Prep Week Agenda Ahead of Mumbai Community Forum

26 January 2026

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has released the full schedule for ICANN85 Prep Week, a set of preparatory sessions organized in advance of the ICANN85 Community Forum. The goal of Prep Week is to provide the global ICANN community with timely briefings and shared context before the main meeting, which will take place 7–12 March 2026 in Mumbai, India.

Prep Week will run for three days, from Monday, 23 February through Wednesday, 25 February 2026, and will consist of 12 sessions. All sessions will be held in English, with real-time interpretation available in French and Spanish to support broad international participation.

Attendance at Prep Week requires registration for ICANN85. Participants who complete registration will receive confirmation emails with additional logistical information. Remote participation links will be distributed approximately 24 hours before each scheduled session.

What to Expect from the Sessions

The agenda spans a wide range of topics central to ICANN’s ongoing work and priorities ahead of the Community Forum. On Monday, 23 February 2026, sessions will cover the Review of Reviews and Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO) update, policy implementation activities, updates on planning and finance, and an overview of Contractual Compliance.

The program continues on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, with sessions focused on geopolitical, legislative, and regulatory developments, policy and advisory processes, preparation for the Annual Strategy Evaluation, and a dedicated ICANN Board engagement session with the community.

Wednesday, 25 February 2026 will conclude Prep Week with discussions on the next round of the New gTLD Program, a community update on Universal Acceptance, progress on the ICP-2 Review, and information about the ICANN Grant Program.

Technical and Participation Details

All sessions are scheduled according to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) to ensure clarity for participants across regions. Session materials, including recordings and transcripts, will be published once they become available, allowing community members to revisit discussions and key updates.

ICANN85 Prep Week is designed as a structured onboarding moment ahead of the Mumbai Community Forum, helping participants align on priorities, processes, and upcoming decisions. Completing registration in advance ensures access to both Prep Week sessions and the main ICANN85 meeting.
