NextGen@ICANN84 Is Open for Applications

ICANN has officially kicked off the application period for its NextGen@ICANN84 initiative, which runs from March 31 to May 9, 2025.

This program is a golden ticket for students from the Asia Pacific region to step into the heart of Internet governance during the ICANN84 Annual General Meeting, happening October 25–30, 2025, in Muscat, Oman.

What’s It All About?

The NextGen@ICANN initiative is all about empowering future tech changemakers by giving them a front-row seat at ICANN’s public gatherings.

Chosen participants won’t just attend – they’ll receive full travel funding and personalized mentorship to dive deep into how ICANN keeps the Internet running smoothly.

Who Can Apply?

• You need to be between 18 and 30 years old during the time of the event.
• You must be actively studying at an undergraduate, graduate, or PhD level.
• Your home and place of study should be somewhere in the Asia Pacific region.
• You should have a strong interest in how the Internet works behind the scenes — think policies, infrastructure, and digital governance.

The selected applicants will be officially announced on July 15, 2025.
