The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), in partnership with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), has officially opened applications for the 2025 Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy (APIGA).
APIGA 2025 will take place from 18 to 22 August 2025 in Busan, Republic of Korea. This yearly academy is crafted to provide university students and young professionals (aged 18–35) across the Asia Pacific region with hands-on training in Internet governance, policy development, and digital diplomacy.
Curriculum and Opportunities
The five-day program offers an intensive mix of lectures, practical workshops, and team-based exercises focused on key themes such as multistakeholder governance, domain name systems, and the global digital policy ecosystem.
Participants will benefit from one-on-one mentorship, direct exposure to global Internet governance organizations, and opportunities to network with industry leaders and policymakers.
With its immersive and inclusive format, APIGA aims to build capacity in the next generation of digital leaders and create sustainable engagement within the global Internet governance community.
Alumni Impact and How to Apply
Since its launch, APIGA has helped nurture a vibrant alumni network—many of whom have gone on to participate in platforms like ICANN, the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), and other international Internet policy arenas.
ICANN and KISA remain committed to this program as part of their mission to promote secure, inclusive, and multistakeholder participation in the evolution of the Internet.
