Keep track of the dates and settings that matter for a domain you use. This guide shows where to find a NicNames domain’s expiry date and Subscription status, and what to check before renewal.
To follow along, sign in to the NicNames account that holds your domain.
1. Find the domain and its date
Sign in and open Domains → ClassicDNS. The Classic Domains list has an Expiration column beside each domain. Use Search my classic domains... if your list is long. Open the domain name or its Settings link for a closer look. On the domain page, Expiry Date appears near Status and Subscription.
Record the date somewhere your team checks regularly. For a domain tied to a website or email, leave time to resolve a payment or account issue before the date arrives. The NicNames registration agreement says customers should maintain their own reminders even though NicNames sends renewal notices.
2. Check the Subscription status
The Classic Domains list displays a Subscription status below the expiration date. The domain page also shows a Subscription switch and its status. Read the status for each name separately; do not assume all domains in one account use the same setting.
The registration agreement says an automatic-renewal attempt depends on current billing details and that automatic renewal is unavailable for some top-level domains. An active Subscription label is therefore a setting to review, not proof that a future renewal payment has already succeeded. If the control or its availability is unclear for your extension, contact NicNames support before relying on it.
3. Review the renewal path and cost
The list shows a Renew action for each domain, and the detail page has Renew Domain. Open the renewal path when you are ready to review the available term and total; confirm the domain, price and payment information before completing an order.
You can compare one-year renewal figures in the NicNames domain pricing table. The exact name and checkout can matter, particularly for premium or variably priced domains, so treat the final renewal quote as the amount to confirm. For a broader cost comparison, read how to compare registration and renewal prices on NicNames.
4. Verify the result
After you intentionally complete a renewal, return to the domain page and check the Expiry Date and Status. Review the invoice or order confirmation as well. If the date has not changed, the payment failed, or the domain is already expired, contact support with the domain and order details. Do not assume that every extension has the same post-expiration recovery window or fee.
Reviewing your Classic Domains periodically is a simple way to keep expiration dates visible, including for names you do not visit every day.
