The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has announced a series of interactive webinars dedicated to the Draft Report prepared by the Review of Reviews Cross Community Group (CCG). The sessions will take place on 14 July 2026 and are designed to present the report while giving Nominating Groups and other interested stakeholders an opportunity to ask questions and discuss its proposals.
The Draft Report is currently available as part of ICANN’s Public Comment process, which remains open until 4 August 2026. Through this consultation, the Reviews CCG is seeking feedback on the proposed modernized reviews framework, including both Scheduled Reviews and On-Demand Reviews, as well as the structure, individual components, and operational aspects of the overall system.
Two Webinar Sessions to Support Global Participation
To make participation accessible across different regions, the Reviews CCG will host two identical 90-minute webinar sessions on Tuesday, 14 July 2026. The first session will run from 06:00 to 07:30 UTC, while the second will be held from 18:00 to 19:30 UTC, allowing participants from multiple time zones to attend the discussion at a convenient time.
During the webinars, the Cross Community Group will explain the key elements of the Draft Report, outline the proposed review model, and respond directly to questions from attendees. The sessions are intended to encourage broad participation before the Public Comment period concludes.
Background of the Review Initiative
The Review of Reviews Cross Community Group was established to carry out a comprehensive evaluation of the review mechanisms defined in the ICANN Bylaws. Its objective is to develop an updated review framework that strengthens ICANN’s accountability, transparency, and overall effectiveness while ensuring the system remains fit for future community needs.
The current Draft Report reflects the outcomes of the group’s work and incorporates the perspectives and feedback gathered throughout the first three phases of the initiative. Community input collected during the ongoing Public Comment process will help shape the final recommendations before the Reviews CCG concludes its work.
